Painting Fabric (Live Model), Saturday 3rd April, 2027.
Whilst life drawing classes are regularly accessible, there are few opportunities to practice figure painting from a clothed model. Fabrics are fascinating to paint and this workshop will focus on how to paint clothes from reference to a live model.
Fabrics feature heavily in Richard’s work and he will guide you through his approach to rendering clothing in a realistic yet expressive way.
Previous experience with oil painting is recommended for this workshop as it is a little more advanced.
What will I learn?
How to paint the natural folds and contours of fabric on the human figure.
Colour mixing (skin tones and fabrics).
How to paint simple patterned fabric.
