Landscapes in Oils, 11th April, Barnsley.

£120.00

Richard’s popular landscape painting workshop makes a welcome return in 2026. Celebrate the coming of Spring by taking the outdoors into Richard’s studio in Barnsley.

What will I learn?

  • How to mix a range of greens and earth tones.

  • How to paint skies.

  • How to observe the landscape and organise your painting.

The overall theme of the workshop will be to echo Richard’s approach to painting landscapes in the open air. The British weather being the unpredictable beast it is, this workshop will take the same approach but in the comfort (and dry) of Richard’s studio. The morning will cover basic oil painting techniques, colour mixing and quick painting exercises. In the afternoon you will produce a finished landscape painting on canvas, applying the techniques you have practiced. The workshop will be underpinned with demonstrations, individual advice and feedback.

Ideal for anyone with some experience of painting with oil paint and/or have attended an introduction to oil painting style workshop.
