Introduction to Oil Painting, 15th-16th November
Join Richard in his studio to explore the wonderful, versatile world of oil painting in this two-day workshop.
From reference to a range of still-life setups as the subject matter, participants will be guided in the fundamentals of oil painting with a focus on colour mixing, mark making, tonal values, form and composition.
Using a combination of demonstrations and one to one support, Richard will help each individual improve their technique and overcome any obstacles that arise. The small group number will ensure you receive plenty of individual feedback across the duration of the workshop.
The course is suitable for beginners and those wanting to improve their skills and includes practical advice on how to set up a studio at home so you can continue your painting practice. Richard will also offer advice on which materials to use, helping you cut through the considerable number of options available.
Testimonial:“Not only did I learn loads but I had lots of fun as well. Richard is an amazing artist and it felt like he really wanted to help you be your best artist. I came away from the workshop with new skills, great art and a new confidence in myself.” Laura Horrocks-Barlow
